VFEMI was founded by Jane Coyle who has worked for over two decades providing services to refugees and immigrants in the US, and facilitating adoptions of Vietnamese and Ethnic Minority children to US citizens.

Deeply touched by the determination, courage, and life stories of those she served, Jane frequently visited Vietnam where she developed a keen understanding of the culture and challenges facing many Vietnamese people. Her deep love and respect for the people from this hauntingly beautiful country, coupled with her passion for helping to improve the lives of many suffering war trauma, illness, and poverty, has inspired her work on numerous humanitarian projects.

Jane contributed to medical, clean water, and education aid programs; worked on the creation of a grass roots malnutrition education project; and built a sponsorship project linking Americans with impoverished children from orphanages.

The inspiration for The Vietnam Fund for Education, Music & Infrastructure grew out of Jane’s contact with the extraordinary people she has encountered over the past 27 years.
